The submission to the marketplace was actually very easy and within less than 24 hours my app was in the marketplace, that was a great start. Unfortunately the rest of the marketplace experience hasn’t been great for me an my app. First I found out that I can’t sell my app because of my immigrant status. But then the marketplace doesn’t even give you any indication of how many people use or download your app. So basically there is no way for me to see if people actually use it. Very frustrating.
I read on some developer forums that there are some temporary solutions until 2011, when Microsoft plans to release official statistics for developers of Windows Phone apps. But I don’t really want to spent time to implement some temporary software in my app to track downloads and usage….
On the other hand it’s good to see the first feedback. There are already some ratings on my app. Also I accidentally rated my app myself, and I can’t find a way to delete my rating
Img is currently 26th “top selling” app in the news and weather category – but again, I have no clue what that means: 50 or 5000 downloads??
Thanks for everybody’s feedback. And special thanks to SmartKeitai and MobilityDigest for featuring my app on their blogs.
